Surrey Day Walks CANCELLED

On Saturday 2 May, 2020 we offer a huge welcome to SURREY DAY - #SurreyDay. Visit Surrey is promoting events all over the county to showcase what happens here, what fun we have and what people can be proud of. From Egham in the North to Haslemere in the South and from Oxted in the East to Farnham in the West, things are happening and people are shouting.

And what are we shouting in Farnham? What else?

"Come and Walk with us"!

We are excited to offer three walks for all.

Can you complete the Surrey Day Challenge? Scroll to the bottom of this page and read about it.

Our day of walking starts at 10 am with a return of our ever popular WATERSIDE WANDERINGS. A lovely 7 mile stroll from Farnham to Ash Vale along three waterways - the Wey, the Blackwater and the Basingstoke canal. This will be a slow and gentle walk for all the family. Bring a packed lunch and enjoy the company by the canal-side. All the details are here -

In the early evening we feature an informative guided tour of our town. Chris Shepheard will show folks around INDUSTRIAL FARNHAM. He looks at some of the industries that have made the town what it is - from hops to twine and even some surprises such as corsets! For more information see

To round the day off we feature Farnham Walking Festival's first NIGHT WALK. An 8 mile hike from the town to Crondall and back starts at 9 pm and finishes when all good people should really be in bed! With luck we'll be in the village for last orders at the Plume of Feathers. Here's the information on that -

Can you complete all three walks and win our "Challenge Certificate" and special prize?

Walk all three walks - 18 miles from 10 am to 1 am the following morning and win this certificate, personalised for you and a special prize - Click here for more details.

We hope you can find something to enjoy from our schedule and look forward to seeing you
