Guy Singer has a general role with the Festival, including organising the walks, publicity and media organiser. A keen walker himself, Guy can frequently be found on the long-distance trails around the area. As a younger man, he spent a great deal of time in the Lake District and counts walking the Pennine Way among his accomplishments. He freely admits that although visiting the Everest Base Camp was once among his lifelong ambitions, anno domini (and too many cream buns) have now overtaken him and such an expedition is beyond his capabilities.
Among areas within his brief for the festival are managing the website, Facebook page and preparing material for the brochure. He is also the walk leader for many of the walks during the 2020 event.
Now retired, his hobbies (when he is home-bound due to weather) include collecting and dealing in unusual banknotes, writing books and dreaming of exotic places to visit on holiday.
